Mappi District, Papua, Indonesia

In the afternoon, the local boys and girls use this wooden-bridge as their platform to jump into the shallow swamp. Mappi is about two hours from Merauke by plane. Similarly to two nearby districts (Asmat and Merauke), this district is mainly covered by peatlands and swamp and will be developed into food and energy source in upcoming years.
