Title: Risk and Ecosystem Mozaic Maps
Date: 18-May-2001
Category: Canada-Peatland Maps
Source/Author: Ed Wiken, Harold Moore, and Claudia Latsch

This is a mosaic of maps that constitute important backdrop information for peatland and wetland conservation.

The ecosystem maps show the terrestrial and marine ecosystem units at the ecozone and ecoregion levels. There is also a generalized map of the core arctic, forested and agricultural areas of Canada.

The risk maps show two cases. The current day levels of risk to wildlife habitats such as wetlands and peatlands. Here, many areas in southern Canada are most at risk. The second portrays levels of risk from climate change. In this case, the northern areas where most peatlands occur are at greater risk from climate change.
