Peat Related Professional Experience/History: Internationally recognized expert in assessment and management coastal, wetland, river basin and natural resources, with 30 years international working experience in nearly 20 countries primarily in the Asia Pacific Region. Active in promoting integrated river basin management and author of global guidelines on integrated wetland and river basin Management for Ramsar convention. Nearly 30 years working with Malaysian government agencies, private sector and civil society organisations to address river and wetland management issues. Familiar with river pollution control measures and plantation sector. Nearly 10 years working with oil palm sector through round table on sustainable palm oil and other mechanisms. Experienced in the development of guidelines for the management of forests, wetlands, rivers and other natural resources.   Specialist in the management and restoration of rivers, peatlands, mangrove, and other ecosystems. Significant experience in developing and facilitating multistakeholder dialogues and partnerships involving, government, NGO, Private sector and community representatives.
