The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. IFAD focuses on agricultural and rural development; using country-specific solutions, which can involve increasing rural poor peoples' access to financial services, markets, technology, land and other natural resources.

 

     
     
   
 

 

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) is an independent financial mechanism that provides grants to developing and eligible countries for pojects that benefit the global environment. The GEF supports projects in biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, the ozone layer and persistent organic pollutants. These projects link local, national and global environmental challenges while promoting sustainable livelihoods.
