Channel NewsAsia - SINGAPORE : The National Environment Agency (NEA) says slightly hazy conditions in Singapore can be expected occasionally until the end of the month.

NEA explains that it is now the inter-monsoon period and during this period, prevailing winds tend to be rather inconsistent.

The wind changed from northeastly to southwesterly at about 1pm, bringing particulate matter from some fires in Sumatra to Singapore.

But the haze situation is not expected to have a significant impact on the air quality.

It noted that the 24-hour PSI at 4pm on Monday was 37, which was in the "Good" range.

The situation should improve when the inter-monsoon sets in and bring more rain to Singapore.
