Title: Call for Articles: Peatlands International 2/2005
Date: 04-Oct-2005
Category: General
Source/Author: The Secretariat of the International Peat Society (IPS)
Description: The International Peat Society encourages authors to submit articles for the "Ramsar COP9" edition of its member magazine.

The Secretariat of the International Peat Society (IPS) has started collecting articles for the next issue of Peatlands International. The deadline for submitting reports, announcements and other material is 30 August 2005.

Peatlands International 2/2005 will be published in October, main theme being the 9th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971) "Wetlands and water: supporting life, sustaining livelihoods". The meeting, at which also Peatlands International will be distributed, is held in Kampala, Uganda on 8 - 15 November 2005.

Please send us a short note on your plans, the author and topic as soon as possible, so that we can plan the contents of the magazine. After that, you can send your articles of max. 2,000 words as unformatted Word or text document plus illustrations as high resolution jpg, tif, eps or pdf by e-mail, on a floppy disk or as CD-Rom to the IPS Secretariat until the end of August (strict deadline). Due to organisational reasons, we highly recommend to have your articles checked by a native English speaker before you submit them. Thank you very much!

There is also the possibility to introduce your company and products to the readers of Peatlands International by booking advertisement space. As in previous months, all advertisers of Peatlands International will also be mentioned for half a year in IPS’ monthly newsletter Peat News.
