The purpose of the Annual Report to is to report on progress under the Climate Change, Forests and Peatlands in Indonesia (CCFPI) for the period April 2002 – March 2004. The annual report was prepared in conjunction with the workplan for 2003 – 2004 over a period from February 3, 2003 to February 27, 2003. Project team members and supporting experts visited project field sites in both Central Kalimantan and Sumatra (for the composition of the team and schedule of visits, see Appendix 1). The core project team 1 then met in Bogor to compile the information gathered during the site visits, and prepare both the annual report and project workplan for 2002 – 2003. 

This report consists of six sections, plus supporting appendices. Section Two looks at key contextual factors which affected the project during the reporting period. Section Three then turns to specific progress that the project made towards its stated results. Section Focus on project management. Section Five summarizes the project’s financial status at the end of the reporting period. Section Six discusses the risks that were identified for the reporting period, and provides and assessment of whether or not these are risks consideration that should be carried into the next workplan period.
